Yet another delightful Tea Party

I will always have a special spot for The Flamjangled Tea Party; although I am still but a freshman to this mircaously themed festival, I fell in love with what it represents and everything that it holds.

A mystical experience that is seldom found in an increasingly common Cape Tonian society, if you didn’t get Flamjangled this year, throw it on your bucket list immediately.

Our story after the jump!

A mystical escape to the Masqued Ball

Masqued Ball has always been considered the last ‘big party’ of the season, so when the news of the venue having burnt down was announced a mere two weeks before the event hearts shattered across Cape Town as people began to question:

“Would there be no Masqued Ball 2012?”

Dapanji & Beartrap are my new favourite things

Yip, it was one of those parties; flawless, beautiful and insanely fun, Beartrap’s 10 year anniversary set the standards high this time around.

From the music, the people, the transformed venue and the remarkable vibe –the grin on my face is here to stay.

Blowing one’s nose is forbidden at Steers

A group of us were prone to some bizarre customer service at Steers on Sunday, and it is due to such that i’ve sent them a letter.

It is these small things that puts the NoBucks team off places, yet we still enjoy mixing a little humour into our complaints.

Origin: the most beautiful party of the season

Sunday the 31st of January was so hot that even Satan decided to take the day off. Based on this knowledge I’m able to say that Satan is, in fact, a bit of a pussy. This is not to say that Sunday wasn’t boiling hot, but merely that the attendees of Origin 2012 were troopers who refused to be deterred by sweltering heat, the threat of Monday-morning first-degree sunburn, and sand that was hot enough to deep fry any foot that was foolish enough to dwell within it for more than a tenth of a second.

Cafe Mojito – A burger haven

‘Jackpot!’, ‘Winner winner chicken dinner!’, ‘Score!‘ – although mostly said upon winning some gambling game, these define the feeling I get when I find a new establishment that is worth boasting about.

Cafe Mojito is one of those establishments, providing an experience that is epic in all critical aspects.

So spare five minutes of your time to find out why (and drool at some pictures) :)

Get in my face, now.

Mind Manipulating Sundays

I don’t think I am much of a normal person. I mean, from my understanding, normal people dedicate their Sundays to far different activities than I do. Beach days, braais, family lunches, maybe even a dreaded visit to a Church.

Me? I choose to immerse myself with some fellow associates in a psychedelic filled day ; a gathering for those who choose to stray away from the norm.

MMD’s Back to the Primitive is best served hot, loud and with a cooling aid of water sprinklers.

Love, Light and utter happiness :)

Simply put, Love & Light was short & sweet (defined albeit differently than your usual interpretation) ; being a day party that progressed into the first hours of the evening, it boosted a different experience for us all.

Nonetheless, it was an experience worth partaking in, and yet another remarkable party is added to the books.

Stop complaining about the music – Rezonance was epic!

Rezonance undoubtedly captured a good portion of the New Year hype this time around, and not without reason.

With over 80 varied acts, both international and local, the production team ensured that the masses were catered for all styles of music.

No longer a mere psychedelic sensation, the festival set the standards high this year and attracted an abundance of people from all different spheres of life.

With 4 days incredibly celebrated and debauchers all the the same, this smile isn’t leaving my face

Are you a burger fan? Then you must be a Hudsons fan :)

It’s absolutely bizarre to me that it has taken me this long to give you a take on the Hudsons burger joint (now joints, as they’ve opened in Green Point and recently in Claremont too).

These guys make some of the best burgers the Mother City has to offer ; a variety like no other, gourmet sensations and specials to follow.

Read it all after the jump :)
